Lines of tension in the Fascia can change your body and your brain
I treated a 19-year-old male, who presented with general aches and pains over his body, tingling in fingers, pain in forearms, lower back and hips. Several health care practitioners, with minimal resolution, treated these symptoms.
From our discussion, I asked if they have ever had any sports injuries, accidents, sprains or strains. The answer I hear the most in my practice is “nothing that is major”. My thought is what makes it major? The fact that you have had unresolved pain for 5 years makes it major to me. Your arm might night not have been cut off, but the body, not the mind decides what is major enough to shift your posture, your gait, and your balance.
From further discussion, I asked him if he had ever had a concussion? He said yes, two. The treatment that was recommended was to sit in the dark for two weeks for both. Did that work? He said not really, but he learned to adapt. His symptoms at the time were sensitivity to light, headaches, fatigue, he said those mostly resolved. But what happened next is his body adjusted to the point where at 19 he walks into a room and can’t remember why he went in, he shared isn’t that normal? He also shared that he can’t close his eyes while washing his hair in the shower or he will fall over, in fact, he can not close his eyes and stand on one foot.
His brain has not healed, it now needs retraining and the 5 Step Concussion Protocol I created. He will have to do the brain re-training daily at home to get optimal results.

Falling is the number one cause of concussion
You don’t have to be in a major accident or have a sports injury to have a concussion. A concussion can occur if you have fallen or hit your head. Also, whiplash injuries can also cause a concussion without actually hitting anything; your brain is being sloshed around in your skull, that movement alone can cause inflammation and swelling.
