“Death by Indigestion”

“Death sits in the bowels and bad digestion is the root of all Evils.” – Hippocrates Circa

Do you suffer from lack of focus? You don’t have the energy you used to? Always stiff in the morning or after sitting for long periods of time? Fingers and hands are stiff when you bend them? Feel like you are always bloated? You always seem full? Embarrassing bad gas?

News alert, it could be coming from your gut!

Do you know that the ability to absorb nutrients affects the quality of your life, your energy level or lack of, brain function, your workout, and performance at work and at home? You could be taking all the right supplements and eating the right foods, but something is missing.

After the age of 30, digestive enzymes get diluted; hence, it has become a necessity to take a digestive aid. The reason for this biochemical change is the influx of chemicals, hormones and the fake foods we are exposed to, it does change our bodies. Why do so many people have allergies today or food sensitivities? Its because of the toxins we are exposed to on a daily basis, in the air, in our food, and in our water.

Why you should think about Gut health!

There are significant health concerns for a person who has a compromised digestive system from taking antibiotics, or simply has a genetic predisposition for digestive issues or been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel, Crohn’s Disease, and Inflammatory Bowl Disease.  All digestive issues create great lifestyle changes, discomfort and ultimately pain.

Hidden Symptoms of digestive stress

  1. Bruising Easily
  2. Dry and flaky skin and it’s not because you live in a dry climate
  3. Constant dehydration
  4. Change in weight
  5. Fatty foul smelling stools. Not that stool is supposed to smell like roses, but this is a rotting gut kind of smell, food that is sitting like a lead balloon inside your digestive system.

What happens when you don’t digest food?

  1. Arthritis – This can start out as just stiffness, this stiffness can make you more prone to injury, then can become systemic inflammation, swelling and then laying down of calcium which creates pain on movement.
  2. Osteoporosis – the bones becoming weak and brittle
  3. Malabsorption of nutrients – Not being able to absorb nutrients affects vitality, energy and often leads to disease, loss of hair, wrinkles, poor vision, loss of interest in life and premature aging.

What You Can Do to Prevent or Stop Digestive Issues

Stay away from the foods listed below, no matter what anyone tells you. These foods create stress on your digestive system at any age and will produce swelling, bloating and pain.

  1. Raw food – It’s hard enough to digest food, and the fact that most people rarely chew enough to add in the digestion process, you would have to make it like mush in your mouth to have a chance of digesting raw food
  2. Salads – For those suffering from Irritable Bowel or Inflammatory Bowel, it is recommended to avoid salads.
  3. Avoid food high in saturated fat. Those with enzyme fat in small quantities are beneficial.

3 Solutions

  1. Bile Salts – Helps support the liver and gallbladder to break down fats. To be taken at every meal with protein or fat of any kind.
  2. HCL – Low HCL is the most common digestive problem; stomach acid helps to degrade proteins and polysaccharides, so the body can utilize the nutrients ingested. To be taken with each meal.
  3. Celery Juice – Ingest 16 ounces of Celery Juice every day, 8 OZ in the am and 8 OZ in the pm helps reduce chronic inflammation and restore gut function. I am on a two-week plan and reporting back to her.

How it Works!

These solutions need to be incorporated into your daily routine forever, and with each meal, to aid in digestion and absorption. In my clinical observation, taking enzymes has been a lifesaver for people over 30 years old, and at any age if you have a genetic predisposition to digestive issues or have taken antibiotics.

Over ten years ago, Dr. Eric Serrano shared with me that I needed to take digestive enzymes. Being young and naïve then, I had no idea why I needed to take those supplements, although I am sure Dr. Serrano told me why.

From my symptoms, Dr. Serrano knew I had chronic inflammation and allergies, which prevented me from properly digesting food.  Instead of taking his expert advice, like many other people who are experiential learners, I had to learn the hard way and now ten years later, seeing a GI specialist, I now get it, the answer was so simple.

Digestive Enzymes

Now I take the digestive enzymes daily, and what a difference it is making to my quality of life and digestion. I am absorbing the nutrients from the food, and my gut is happy.

I know, personally, that the use of bile salt prevents pain, cramping, and aids in digestion. I take it before, during or after meals high in protein and fat – the results have been remarkable.

HCL with every meal is essential. My skin looks great; my energy is back, my brain is happy. What is taking more time is the reduction of inflammation in my joints. I see results already after taking HCL for a couple of consistent weeks and I look forward to seeing the results after several months.
