As our ability to test and measure becomes more refined and precise, experts can measure what was before the unmeasurable, but known or experienced by an experienced practitioner and always felt by the patient. To work with the fascia directly, the treatment is an experience and for each person what they feel is uniquely their own.

Quantum Physics -The Fascia is Alive

What we now know about fascia is that it has both a solid and liquid component, each cell communicates with other cells by signaling. Bordoni B and Simonelli (2018) research states “a fascial cell not only has memory bus also the awareness of the mechanometabolic information it feels.”

The function of the fascia is to ensure and correct posture and monitor and create motor expression. Healthy fascia is always in motion, creating space for all other cells in the body to coexist in harmony. A deeper look into fascia directly affects the frequencies of cells,  meaning the fascia influences the emotional sphere of the body. The fascia directly mirrors what the brain and mind are thinking. A person’s personality, so to speak, is evident in their fascia. Our thoughts, our breath, and our nutrition all affect the health of our mind, body, and fascia.

The continuum of fascia supports divides, penetrates, and connects the body from the epidermis to the bones, involving all structures in the body. The fascia reaches out to every atom, every cell in the body and the brain.

Previous thoughts and studies purposed the fascia was divided into layers, but in reality, the fascia is one system with no beginning and no end. It has an entropic nature, the ability to change from a state of order to a state of disorder. It adapts to its environment dependent on the physical or emotional stressors, hydration, and nutrition.

I explain the fascia as one sheath, one fabric meaning an injury occurring in your calf could cause pain in your shoulder due to lines of tension and compensation created in the fascial system, creating stress or inappropriate neural firing of muscles fibers to maintain posture and function. Even then, the most common question I get is: “Why did you not work on my back, (insert any body part) that is where I am having my pain?

Again, I answer:

Your back pain is a symptom of lines of tension in your fascia, the muscles and nerves are reacting to that compensation. The nerves, muscles, joints, and tendons now have to take over a job for the injured area. This causes pain, fatigue, or further injury.

If people have seen several practitioners who have worked solely on the pain, I suggest maybe that is not the cause if it is not getting better. This is the reply “I’m praying this is finally my answer”.

In my opinion and experience, there is always a solution, but we must first take a look at the cause.
