Stretching Fascia Technique (SFT)- was created and developed out the demand and passion to provide results. Finding solutions for professional athletes and professional individuals that had already seen the best of the best in the industry was demanded of me. I had a nagging question in my head, why would I do the same procedures that other therapists had tried and did not produce the desired result? SFT was born. My passion for helping people be pain free and finding solutions to issues that are complicated, inspired me to become a detective so to speak and look for the cause of the pain, not just treat the pain itself.
SFT is an educational biodynamic technique based on elongation of the tissues instead of compression forces and exercises. Similar to Rolfing, I must give credit to Ida Rolf who first introduced the term Fascia, in my opinion, the most important tissue in the body. Address the fascia and it creates significant changes in the body. I believe change only occurs when there is discomfort; people tend to lose their desire for change when we are comfortable. All the great art and music is created in times that are challenging. The body is usually only focused on, when it presents pain. Prevention is so much easier to maintain and is a lot less painful.
The healing process should be an educational process, teaching the patient about their health, structure, biomechanics, and other aspects that may influence their condition. Since individuals are responsible for their own health and wellbeing it is in their highest interest to get involved, as to understand and maintain their own health.
I must acknowledge all of my teachers. Each mentor has shared their passion and experiences with me in their teachings and has inspired me to continue to develop my own unique approach, to treatment and to actively seek out answers to questions that are so unique and challenging. It is evident that I will always be a student of life.
The SFT technique arose out of the needs and demands, my patients required for healing. Their trust, coupled with my expertise in human anatomy, gave me the opportunity to learn, be creative, adapt, invent and develop a unique form of therapy derived from Myofascial release, Fascial Stretching, Neuromuscular therapy, NLP, time line therapy, structural integration, lymphatic, cranial sacral therapy, visceral manipulation and my intuition.
The secret to facilitating healing is to listen to the body and the unconscious mind, which controls all bodily functions. The body speaks to me and guides me to the origin of the physical and/ or emotional trauma. It is my understanding that energy goes into the body and reverberates, similar to the analogy of a pebble in a pond. This may be why symptoms are often felt far away from the root cause of the injury, often as other regions of the body. In order to release this energy it must be released at the same angle and the same positions as the injury occurred. I encourage active participation of the individual. Feedback, diet change and a commitment to getting healthy is required.
During each treatment, time is spent on releasing the fascia/connection tissue via stretching the restricted tissue. The stretch may feel intense or not, depending upon the amount of restriction in the area. The patient may feel a burning sensation, heat, a pulse, a sensation similar to the skin tearing or ripping or even just a light stretch. All of the above indicate that a physiological or neurological change has taken place in the body. A combination of trigger point work, lymphatic, cranial sacral or visceral work maybe included in each session, or performed separately. Often I listen to the body and take it through a range of motion while I am applying pressure or a stretch on a certain area of the body.
The primary purpose of SFT is to restore the body and mind to harmony and optimal functioning, to help create a body without pain and to increase the range of motion. After a treatment, a person may go through a healing crisis, which may include reliving the trauma or the initial injury. The tissues may also release, and it is possible to feel some discomfort, changes, altered sense or a feeling of being lighter.
SFT flows with the need of the client. The tissue can unwind or release depending on what the body needs to heal. Treatment may improve energy level, nerve functioning and bring stability back into your body.

• Realign the body
• Maintain and/or restore functioning and balance.
• Encouraged muscle tone and tissue tone
• Increase range of motion
• Reduce Pain
• Balanced metabolism, lymphatic circulation and chemical balance.
The treatment may be pain free or not, if it is not, nutrition may be addressed as well as other influences.
Before you start therapy with Simone, it is recommended to begin drinking at least 12 – 14 glasses of water a day for 1 – 2 weeks and continue for life. Water intake changes due to altitude, climate, alcohol intake and exercise.
I recommend taking an Emergen C pack everyday found in any supermart as well as my Vitamin B Drink which is available on my website. A stretching program will also be designed specifically for your injury or issue.
